The Osun State Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council has expressed optimism that its presidential flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar, will win next year’s election.
The Director, Media and Publicity, Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, Osun State, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, made this known in a signed statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Atiku is expected to pay a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, the Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland and the Ataoja of Osogbo.
He would then round up the day with a closed door meeting with stakeholders and leaders of the party. Wednesday is scheduled as the D-day for the presidential rally.
The Chairman of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council for Osun state, Hon. Sunday Bisi, speaking on the planned visit, said the state is set to host the party’s flag bearer.
He stated, “Osun is PDP and Atiku Abubakar will win Osun by more than 60 percent. Across the local governments, our party enjoys massive support. Our popular Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke is a huge asset to the Atiku/Okowa campaigns.”
The State Caretaker Chairman of the party, Dr. Akindele Adekunle, cooroborated the position of Hon. Bisi, declaring that Osun people are set to fully vote for the PDP and its candidates.
He said, “Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is the candidate to beat. He is ready, prepared and enjoy support that is national in outlook. Osun people will go Atiku’s way because they trust his agenda , his antecedents and his passion for public service.”
