An Abuja Federal High Court on Wednesday dismissed the suit challenging the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu for the 2023 presidential election.
According to The PUNCH, this was disclosed through a press statement by the Director, Media & Publicity, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga.
It noted that several cases brought against Tinubu by opposition forces, including Action Alliance, had recently been dismissed by courts due to their frivolity, lack of merit, and abuse of the legal system.
In the case with suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/854/2022, the presiding Judge, Justice Fadima Aminu Muritala, described the plaintiff, Elder Ngozika Ihuoma as a “meddlesome interloper having no locus standi to institute the suit”.
It was reported that after the APC’s attorney Julius Ishola Esq from Babatunde Ogala & Co urged the Court to dismiss the case with steep costs for wasting judicial time, Justice Muritala dismissed the case for being speculative.
It would be recalled that Human rights advocate and APC stalwart, Ngozika Ihuoma, had dragged Tinubu and the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to court on June 9 for allegedly violating extant electoral laws few days after the former Lagos State Governor won the APC presidential primary.
