The Presidential Candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, on Wednesday ruled out the possibility of an alliance with the All Progressives Congress or any other party in Nigeria.

Sowore made this known on Wednesday while appearing on The Roundtable with The PUNCH.

Reacting to the reports suggesting that the APC seeks alliance with smaller political parties, Sowore distanced his party from such.

“I will never align myself with the APC, the PDP. The AAC is in alliance with the PRP, and everybody knows this.

“We do not need the kind of alliance that the APC is looking for, they are transactional alliances, our own is mostly ideological alliance. We allign with people who believe that this country must experience growth, development and peace.

“It is also important that the personality involved has also stood the test of time,” He added.

The PUNCH on Wednesday reported that the APC Presidential Campaign Council is planning an alliance with smaller parties in a bid to boost the chances of its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Findings indicated the APC governors and Tinubu met on Monday night following fears expressed by some members on the need to address inadequacies in the party’s presidential campaign.

It was learnt that APC Presidential Campaign Council, comprising governors and the candidate, was of the view that the alliance with other parties would assist the party in getting the highest number of votes and the required national spread in the presidential poll.
