Accord Party dissolves NWC after 20 years

The Accord Party has dissolved its National Working Committee after about 20years of leadership.

The party also elected new National Working Committee to paddle the affairs of the party.

The party’s immediate past National Chairman, Mohammad Lawal Nalado, who addressed the National Executive Council in Abuja on Friday appreciated members of the NEC of the party and his close allies during his tenure, for the opportunity accorded him to serve the party.

He acknowledged the support he received from those who worked with him, adding that he never had headaches discharging his duties.

He vowed to continue supporting the party to reach greater heights, according to Daily Post.

Nalado said he voluntarily decided to step aside and opposed a review of the party’s constitution that would have seen him stay for more years as the Chairman of the party.

He called on whoever becomes the party’s next National Chairman to surpass his achievements, adding he is always available to help the next leadership.

“I’m ageing, I’m no longer a young man and I believe my thinking is diminishing. You cannot compare the strength of a young man to that of an old man,” he said.

“I wish the party progress in the continued struggle for a democratised Nigeria,” he added.
