The Governor of Adamawa State and Peoples Democratic Party candidate in next year’s governorship election in the state, Ahmadu Fintiri, has picked the Vice-Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Prof Kaletapwa Farauta, as his running mate.
The governor made the announcement on Thursday.
Farauta has been the VC of the university since February 2020.
Previously, she served as Chairman of the Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board and then as Commissioner for Education.
She had earlier been a lecturer at the Modibbo Adama University, Yola.
Farauta, who was born on November 28, 1965, in Numan, Southern Adamawa, is married with children.
Farauta’s choice as Fintiri’s running mate ends the road for Crowther Seth, the present Deputy Governor of the state.
