The Adamawa State gubernatorial candidate of the National Rescue Movement, Alhaji Aliyu Maina, is dead.
According to reports, he died on Wednesday, 25 January after a brief illness in Abuja. He died same day the Abia State PDP gubernatorial candidate Professor Uchenna Ikonne, was confirmed dead.
According to the statement from the family of the late Alhaji Abba Maina died on Wednesday, January 25 at his Abuja residence after a brief illness.
“He has been buried according to Muslim rite. We pray to Almighty Allah to protect his family and all his loved ones,” Afuye Olusola Afuye, the National Publicity Secretary of NRM said confirming the death.
Afuye also called on political and business associates to show care and support late Maina’s family at this mourning period.
Alhaji Abba Maina’s death is coming barely 30 days to the general elections.
