Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been inaugurated as the seventh governor of Ondo State in a ceremony held at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, the state capital.
Aiyedatiwa took the oath of office at exactly 12:59 pm, immediately after his deputy, Olayide Adelami, was sworn in. The event was attended by their immediate family members, marking a significant moment in the state’s political history.
The swearing-in ceremony drew notable dignitaries, including the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, and several state governors. Among them were Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
Also in attendance were former governors of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande and Chief Olusegun Osoba, as well as former Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko. The Minister of Youth Development, Hon Ayodele Olawande, was also present.
The event was further graced by present and past members of the National Assembly, the Ondo State APC Chairman, Engineer Ade Adetimehin, and former members of the state’s executive council.
