The National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress Senator Iyiola Omisore was allegedly prevented from attending the National Working Committee meeting of the party, held at the APC National Secretariat Abuja, on Monday, July 17, 2023.
Reports earlier revealed that the meeting is being presided over, by the Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Abubakar Kyari, following the absence of the party’s National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who this platform reported that the news of his resignation from the party was yet unconfirmed.
Reports revealed that the resignation of Adamu at the weekend following the order of President Bola Tinubu.
However, Senator Omisore who arrived at the venue of the meeting around 11:20 am, at the secretariat to join other NWC members was allegedly denied entry into the secretariat.
Meanwhile, the former Osun deputy governor who was among the early arrival at the meeting, left the party secretariat without speaking with the media.
Other members present at the meeting include Kyari, Deputy National Chairman (South) Emma Enukwu, National Vice Chairman (North West) Salihu Lukman, and National Vice Chairman (North East) Salihu Mustapha.
Similarly, the National Vice Chairman (North Central), Muazu Bawa; National Vice Chairman(South West), Isaac Kekemeke; National Vice Chairman (South East), Ejoroma Arodiogu and the Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter, were all present at the meeting.
However, there is a heavy security presence around the national secretariat of the party, checking those driving into the compound, while are being properly screened and questioned by security operatives.
