The All Progressives Congress Professionals in Oyo State have criticized Murtala Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party’s Kogi State governorship candidate, for demanding the removal of President Bola Tinubu’s aides, including Bayo Onanuga.
Ajaka had accused Onanuga of creating enemies for the President through his social media statements.
The APC group, in a statement by its Chief Convener, Alhaji Adekunle Lawal on Sunday, described Ajaka as “self-serving and ego-chasing” and accused him of lobbying for a ministerial appointment.
They alleged that Ajaka’s call for the sack of ministers and Onanuga was to pave the way for his desired appointment as Minister of Information or Special Adviser on Information, according to Daily Post.
The group emphasized that APC does not operate as a party of free exit and free entry, warning Ajaka that his return to the APC, if desired, will not be met with a red carpet reception.
Reacting, the APC-P, in a statement issued by its Chief Convener, Alhaji Adekunle Lawal, described Ajaka as “self serving and ego chasing”.
The APC group wondered whether Ajaka, “having failed in his voyage of political treachery, is now preparing his return to the APC, and looking forward to taking the positions of those who stood with the President when he left the party”.
