APC Primary: Voting ends, collection begins

Delegates of the ruling All Progressives Congress have concluded voting at the party’s national convention and counting has begun at Eagles Square, Abuja.

Premium Politics reports that the party has a total of 2, 203 delegates who are reported to have voted hat the primary.

The ruling party convention, which started June 6, is expected to end today, June 7, 2022, as the party begins the collection of votes in the event of choosing their presidential flag bearer.

Following the withdrawal of seven aspirants throwing the weight behind Bola Tinubu, the battle for the presidential candidate of the APC becomes a stiffened battle between the ex-Governor and his former worker, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

The former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun and Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi, were among those who stepped down for Tinubu.

Dimeji Bankole, the former speaker of the house of representatives; Muhammad Badaru, Jigawa governor; and Ajayi Boroffice, senator representing Ondo North, also withdrew from contesting the presidency and supported Tinubu.

Uju Ohanenye, the only female APC presidential aspirant, also threw her weight behind Tinubu.
