The All Progressives Congress has declared its resolve to wrest control of Adamawa State from the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2027 governorship election.
This was revealed by Senator Muhammed Mana, Chairman of the APC Reconciliation Committee for Adamawa State, after a meeting with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), led by Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, in Abuja.
The Adamawa State chapter of the APC has faced internal divisions, prompting the NWC to establish an eight-member reconciliation committee to foster unity within the party.
The reconciliation team includes notable politicians such as Senators Bello Tukur, Abubakar Girei, and Binta Masi, along with Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakubu, Dr Bridget Zidon, and Barr. Isa Baba, who serves as the committee’s Secretary.
After a closed-door meeting at the APC national secretariat, Senator Mana disclosed that the committee had been tasked by Dr Ganduje to address internal conflicts, rebuild grassroots connections, and fortify the party’s structure in Adamawa State.
“Our intention is to make sure that everybody comes back. That is why we are starting very early. The 2027 election is about two or three years to go. So, that is why we are starting very early to go down to all the nooks and crannies of Adamawa State to woo people back,” Mana stated.
Senator Mana emphasised that Adamawa State remains a critical battleground for the APC. He highlighted the party’s commitment to winning the majority of seats in the state during the 2027 elections.
“We will reach out to those who felt sidelined during the primaries and general elections to unify the party under the APC banner,” he said.
The committee plans to commence its work immediately by engaging party members at the unit, ward, and local government levels.
“Our goal is to create a platform for unity and prepare the next generation of leaders,” Mana added.
Senator Binta Masi expressed confidence in the reconciliation efforts and reaffirmed the APC’s determination to reclaim Adamawa State.
“The battle line has been drawn, and by Allah’s grace, we will replicate our past successes in 2027,” she said.
The committee’s work marks the APC’s early preparations for the next electoral cycle, demonstrating its commitment to addressing internal challenges and enhancing its political strength in Adamawa State.
