A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dele Momodu, has advised President Bola Tinubu not to be wary of opposition, as he himself played a similar role when he was the governor of Lagos State.
Momodu took President Tinubu down memory lane while featuring as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday.
He also accused the ruling party of plotting to crush the opposition.
He alleged that President Bola Tinubu is stifling opposition, even after thriving as an opposition leader before his party dislodged the PDP as the ruling party.
He further stated that the All Progressives Congress of plotting to destroy the PDP and either buy off those who can be bought or terrorize others who are core party members.
He said, “APC will do everything possible to destroy opposition; buy those who are buyable, to terrorise those who are not buyable and make sure that the party is in disarray, that is all,”
“You see part of my admiration for then Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos was the role he played as an opposition leader. But unfortunately, now we have a former opposition leader in government, and they don’t want opposition, it’s an irony.”
