The All Progressives Congress candidate, Monday Okpebholo, is leading in the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday.
According to the results from 16 Local Government Areas announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday, Okpebholo secured 244,549 votes, while Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party garnered 195,954 votes, and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party polled a total of 13,348 votes.
INEC has announced a 3-hour recess to await results from the final two LGAs.
So far, results from 16 Local Government Areas have been presented at the commission’s headquarters in Benin City.
Collation is set to resume at 5:00 PM.
