Arewa leader urges north to reciprocate Tinubu’s support for Buhari

Arewa leader, Alhaji Musa Saidu, has reiterated his appeal to the north to reciprocate the tremendous support President Bola Tinubu gave to former president Muhammadu Buhari.

Saidu recalled that Tinubu’s singular effort made Buhari win the presidential election in the South West, which gave him the presidential seat after several trials.

He said, “As a northern leader who grew up in the South, I have been at the forefront of the campaign for the north to support Tinubu. He gave Buhari all his support till he left. Some who worked against Tinubu’s interest in Buhari’s circle did not succeed as God made him a president.”

Saidu emphasized, “I speak as a northern leader. Tinubu made enemies in the South because he was supporting the north to be president. The north is known for truth. Our character is consistent with truth, so let us reciprocate the support.”

He remembered that some northern leaders, now late, said, “We should not forget the support Tinubu gave our son Buhari to be president.”

Saidu stated that former president Buhari did little to fight banditry, terrorism, and hunger, stressing that they were problems inherited by Tinubu’s administration. He commended President Tinubu for doing his best to redress the problems and applauded the appointment of General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, as part of moves to tackle insecurity in the north.

Saidu said, “I am repeating it that the banditry, terrorism, hunger happened in Buhari’s time. And he was there for eight years and there was no protest. Today we should support Tinubu. He is doing his best. Gen Christopher Musa as CDS is not a bad one. We should work with him, the government for peace to come back to the north.”

He warned, “Enemies of the north are those fighting Tinubu. I saw Rabi’u Musa Kwankwanso and former president Goodluck Jonathan’s posters in the north, I don’t know what it is about. But let us not forget Tinubu.”

Saidu concluded, “Let us always remember that Tinubu came to rescue the north when the north had lost every friend. We should support Tinubu to deliver and not to fight him. Not only the north that must rule, other tribes should also govern the country. Tinubu was the first to show love to the north, so we should reciprocate.”
