The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has listed 18-man legal team to reclaim his stolen mandate.
The team which was inaugurated on Tuesday include 18 Senior Advocates of Nigeria.
The former vice president told the legal team at his campaign headquarters in Abuja, to establish a case of illegality in the just concluded presidential election so that he can reclaim the mandate of the Nigerian people.
Atiku who is confident that he would reclaim the mandate, stressed that it would also be a trial to strengthen constitutional democracy in the country.
Discussing with the team , which is being headed by Chief J. K. Gadzama, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, at the conference room of his office at the campaign headquarters, Atiku explained to the legal team that reclaiming the mandate is not necessarily because of him and the PDP, “but to strengthen democracy and the electoral process and for generations unborn.”
Those team of the Senior Advocate of Nigerians include, Chief Chris Uche , Mr. Paul Usoro, Tayo Jegede, Ken Mozia, Chief Mike Ozekhome, Mahmood Magaji, Joe Abraham, Mr Chukwuma Umeh, Dr. Garba Tetengi and Chief Emeka Etiaba
Others are Chief Goddy Uche,, Prof. Maxwell Gidado ; the National Legal Adviser of the PDP, A. K. Ajibade, Mr. O. M. Atoyebi, Mrs. Nella Rabana , Paul Ogbole, Nuremi Jimoh and Abdul Ibrahim.
Recall that the PDP had alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission, had compromised the process of the presidential election.
PDP argued that INEC manipulated the outcome of the February 25 presidential election in favour of the All Progressives Congress flag bearer, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, who was subsequently declared winner last Wednesday.
The party also faulted INEC for failure to comply with the provisions of the Electoral Act and the guidelines to upload the election results from the polling units using the BVAS, hence falsification of results.
In reaction to this, Atiku and other party stalwarts, on Monday, took protest to the International Coalition Center, Abuja to register their their grievances.
