Senator Muhammed Bulkachuwa representing Bauchi North senatorial district has disclosed at the National Assembly that he encroached on the decisions of his wife, Mrs Zainab Bulkachuwa, who is a former president of the court of appeal on behalf of his colleagues.
Bulkachuwa in a video that has since gone viral made this stunning revelation during a session at the National Assembly.
“…Particularly my wife, whose freedom and independence I encroached upon while she was in office, and she has been very tolerant and accepted my encroachment, and extended her help to my colleagues,” Senator Bulkachuwa said before he was interrupted by the outgoing senate president, Ahmed Lawan.
The trending video which was posted by the @mindset-tweet sparked reactions from Nigerians who condemned the senator’s outburst and called for a review of Zainab’s Bulkachuwa judgements as President of Court of appeal.
“When it comes to how flawed the judiciary is, Lawan is example number 1. Miracle senator, pulled off one of the greatest political heist in modern day Nigeria. The guilt on his face,” Etim said.
Another user, Nimble said, “This country needs a full reset and the back up wiped. What is all these?”
“In a sane country, his wife should be planning for a press conference to deny this heavy allegation or be arrested immediately. Northerners are too powerful in Nigeria politics. Please they should allow Nigeria progress,” Stan added calling for a review of Bulkachuwa’s past judgements.
Oo Nwoye, a foremost tech investor added, “Not “the wife”. Her name is Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, past president of the court of appeal,”
“In a normal, law enforcing society, the security operatives would have gone into action, investigation would have been in action now. Sadly, we live in a lawless country, where the man who was declared president didn’t meet the requirements of the law,” DatUrhoboMan added.
