The All Progressives Congress has faulted the Independent National Electoral Commission for excluding the name of its governorship candidate in Bayelsa State, Trimipre Sylva, from the commission’s amended list.
APC in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on Wednesday, described the action as ‘premature’, noting that Sylva’s name should not have been excluded because of the appeal filed to challenge the earlier court judgment which disqualified Sylva from contesting in the November 11 election in the state.
According to the party, the development will foist a situation of helplessness on the Appellate Court if the appeal is successful.
The party, however, called on the APC supporters in the state to remain calm as the party runs the issue through a judicial process, expressing hope that its candidate will win both at the appeal court and the coming election in the state.
“Delisting our candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva, in the circumstances, as @inecnigeria has done, is premature, and preempts the outcome of the valid appeal in the matter,” APC tweeted.
