Betta Edu: Don’t be discouraged, Femi Pedro advises youths

Former deputy governor of Lagos State, Femi Pedro, has urged young Nigerians seeking public offices not to be discouraged by the recent occurence in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Speaking via a statement on Wednesday, the former Lagos leader said that the nation needs more of young people in the helms of affairs of the country.

He advised young Nigerians to always seek mentorship from older people while managing public offices.

He stressed that the mentors should be those who are serving or must have retired with some measure of credibility and good pedigree.

He said, “The nation needs more young people in public service and I hope her misadventure will not discourage others in her age bracket.

“My advice to all young people who are called to service in public office is to seek out a mentor of a public officer serving or retired with some measure of credibility and good pedigree who will guide and mentor them on how to navigate the murky waters of public office.”
