Bashir Ahmad, an aide to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on New Media, has taken a swipe at the followers of former President Goodluck Jonathan over his alleged All Progressives Congress membership.

Ahmad had tweeted that Jonathan had dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the APC some days ago after a Fulani Group reportedly purchased the N100m Presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of the former president.

“So Goodluck Jonathan has dumped the opposition PDP and now a member of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC),” Ahmad tweeted.

Hours after the Fulani Group’s move, the former president, rejected the forms, just as his former aide and loyalist, Reno Omokri, reaffirmed his support for Jonathan but vowed not to join the APC.

“To those who think I am in a dilemma, just be patient. You will all be so disappointed with yourselves and your premature celebration when you see my next tweet. You guys are so easy to manipulate.

“Let me say that under the rain and under the sun, I will follow Jonathan. Secondly secondly(sic), I can’t ever be one with APC. Thirdly, nobody can shave HE #GEJonathan’s head in his absence. Read between the lines. More to come!”

However, in a statement on Thursday, Ahmad taunted Jonathan’s supporters, suggesting that his previous tweet on Jonathan’s decamping to the APC was accurate.

He said this in a tweet on Thursday, “When I shared the news of former President Jonathan joining our party, his uninformed supporters insulted me saying that can never happen even in the wildest dream. They should know that we know something they don’t know and not everything planned and execute on social media”.

Meanwhile, the Bayelsa State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dennis Otiotio, has said that the former President is officially not yet a member of the APC in the state.
