Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja delivered a verdict on the plea made by Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Biafra nation agitators, seeking the reinstatement of his revoked bail and a change in his custody from the Department of State Services.
The judge, citing a previous dismissal of a similar request by Kanu, reiterated her stance. She emphasized that Kanu had previously breached his bail conditions and absconded from the country.
Additionally, she noted that the sureties who had vouched for him during his initial bail had renounced their responsibility due to their inability to locate him. Justice Nyako advised Kanu to pursue his appeal rights at the Court of Appeal, dismissing claims made by his legal representative regarding the Supreme Court’s stance on the matter.
