The Executive Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has said his habitual dancing in public does not deter him from doing his appointed duty as the governor.

The ‘dancing governor’, as he is fondly called, made this disclosure in an exclusive interview with News Central on Monday.

According to him, he had always been dancing from his childhood, even making money from the act, so it is a hobby for him to dance and no one can stop him from doing so.

He said, “I love music, I love dancing. In fact, I was supposed to be into entertainment business. During that time when we were growing up our father believed that you have to be a doctor, you have to be a lawyer, you have to go to school, they forced me to go to school.

“I got to US in 1980 when the Michael Jackson was reigning and all that. I used to go out there and do a dancing competition and I’m only winning dollars, so, it’s just part of me. So, I’m not surprised that my nephew and my kids have already picked that up.

“So, I don’t believe that because I am a governor or when I was a senator I cannot dance. Sometimes when we are having a get-together and everything like that, everyone will be stuck up.

“I’m not going to let anybody control my life, like I said, there’s time for everything. Time to dance, when it’s time for me to dance I will dance. A lot of people they love me, they love me now that’s why I’m so popular, everywhere I go if I don’t dance they would say ‘what is going on?’

“So, I see dancing just like a side something, as my hobby, but that doesn’t disturb me from doing my job.”
