Human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi, has been granted bail in the sum of N30 million by a Magistrate Court in Ekiti State.
Farotimi, who had been remanded at a correctional facility in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, arrived at the court premises at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Friday.
Conveyed in a prison van accompanied by a police escort, Farotimi stepped out of the vehicle to the cheers of a supportive crowd gathered outside the court. In response, he raised his hands in appreciation of their solidarity.
The bail ruling marks a significant development in Farotimi’s legal battle, with the public closely following the proceedings surrounding the prominent human rights advocate.
