The National and State Houses of Assembly Election Tribunal, sitting in Asaba, Delta State’s capital, has affirmed the victory of Peoples Democratic Party Senator Ned Nwoko as the lawful winner of the Delta North Senatorial Election held on February 25, 2023.
The petition submitted by Ken Kanmma of the Labour Party was dismissed by a three-member Tribunal presided by Justice Catherine Ogunsola for lack of merit.
The Tribunal ruled unanimously that the petitioner failed to show his case since he did not present any essential documents to prove a case of non-compliance as stated in the petition.
In addition, the Tribunal dismissed a petition brought by Senator Peter Nwaoboshi of the All Progressives Congress against Nwoko. The Tribunal dismissed the case and awarded the petitioner N500,000 in costs.
