Democracy day: Tinubu slips at Eagles Square

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday experienced a minor mishap at the Eagles Square, the designated site for the 2024 Democracy Day celebration, an event that holds significant national importance in Nigeria as it commemorates the country’s return to democratic governance.

 

The incident occurred as President Tinubu was boarding the parade vehicle shortly after his arrival at the venue. While attempting to step onto the vehicle, he slipped, prompting a swift response from his security details and aides, who quickly assisted him in regaining his balance.

 

Despite this brief incident, President Tinubu used the occasion to reiterate his commitment to building a fair and equitable Nigeria where no citizen is oppressed. In his Democracy Day address, he emphasized his administration’s dedication to fostering an inclusive and just society through comprehensive economic and political reforms. “We are dedicated to creating a nation where every citizen feels valued and protected,” he declared.

 

The President also highlighted the various reforms initiated by his administration aimed at establishing a stronger foundation for future growth. He reassured the nation of his unwavering resolve to continue implementing policies designed to promote national development and unity.
