Ebonyi gov presents N396.59bn 2025 budget to state assembly

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has proposed a N396.59 billion budget for 2025, emphasizing education and health as pivotal to the state’s development.

 

Titled the Budget of Economic and Social Development, education receives the largest allocation at N70.14 billion, followed by health at N39.01 billion. The economic and social sectors collectively account for over 86% of the budget, while administrative and justice sectors receive smaller shares.

 

Governor Nwifuru stressed industrialization, economic growth, and improved living standards as key goals. He noted ongoing reforms in education to incorporate technology and entrepreneurial skills, aiming to foster self-reliance. Teacher recruitment for technology-focused education is part of these efforts.

 

The budget also prioritizes infrastructure, industrial foundations, and social services, with the state assembly expected to deliberate soon.
