Edo 2024: I have no anointed successor, says Obaseki

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has revealed that he does not have an anointed successor for the state’s governorship election in the state come 2024.

The state governor made this known while addressing journalists on Friday in Benin.

He noted that it is not his place to determine who succeeds him as the next governor but the process of electing his successor should follow due process.

“It is not in my place to now determine, appoint or anoint any successor, but all I know is that in the process of seeking my successor, there must be fairness, equity, and a sense of inclusion because our goal is to keep Edo as one,” Obaseki said.

Obaseki also disclosed that his administration was focused on finishing strong.

He assured that his administration planned to finish all uncompleted projects before the governorship election, according to Daily Post.

“For me, that is the only issue I understood that may be a problem and that should not stop us.

The important thing for us as an administration is for us to finish strong and try to complete everything we told Edo people we would do for them during our campaign,” he said.
