The Edo State governorship election tribunal, sitting in Abuja, has reserved its judgment on the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship candidate, Mr. Asue Ighodalo.
The petition challenges the outcome of the September 21, 2024, governorship election in the state.
The petitioners are contesting the declaration of Governor Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress as the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, citing alleged widespread irregularities during the poll.
The three-member tribunal, led by Justice Wilfred Kpochi, reserved its judgment on Monday after the legal representatives for all parties involved adopted their final written addresses.
Justice Kpochi noted that the tribunal’s secretary would communicate the date for the judgment to the parties involved.
