No fewer than four suspects have been arrested by the operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command in Ado for disrupting the electoral process at a polling booth.
Premium Politics gathered that the suspects are being interrogated by the Police to establish their offence and involvement in line with extant laws.
Meanwhile, the collation process is ongoing and shall be concluded in due course.
Operatives are attached to collation centres to ensure a smooth, free, fair, and credible collation process.
This publication reported that about 16 candidates are contesting for the seat of the governor as the people of Ekiti elect the successor of Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Although the election has been largely peaceful, the process was marred by reports of vote-buying by some yet-to-be-identified individuals.
The candidates are Abiodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress, Olabisi Kolapo of the Peoples Democratic Party and Olusegun Oni of the Social Democratic Party.
Others are Reuben Famuyibo of Accord, Ajagunigbale Olajide of African Action Congress, Oluwole Oluyede of the African Democratic Congress, Elebute-Halle Kemi of Action Democratic Party and Benjamin Obidoyin of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
Also contesting are Fagbemi Adegbenro of Allied Peoples Movement, Christiana Olatawura of All People’s Party, Daramola Olugbenga Onile of Labour Party, Fatomilola Oladosu of New Nigeria Peoples Party and Iyaniwura Ifedayo of the National Rescue Movement.
Also in the race are Agboola Ben of the Peoples Redemption Party, Adebowale Oluranti Ajayi of the Young Progressives Party and Adeolu Akinyemi of the Zenith Labour Party.
