A former Accountant General of Abia State, Gabriel C. Onyendilefu, has joined the All Progressives Congress.
He was accompanied by Hon. Ikechukwu Anyatonwu, the former chairman of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area.
Onyendilefu, who had previously sought a seat in the House of Representatives under the Peoples Democratic Party in 2018, declared his new allegiance at his country home in Ikem Nvosi.
In an interview, Onyendilefu explained his decision to join the APC, citing a desire to engage in national politics at a higher level.
He brings a wealth of experience to his new party, having served as Accountant General under the administrations of Teodore Orji and Okezie Ikpeazu.

On why he joined the APC, the former accountant general said: “There seems no better alternative,” adding that there is ” need to play national politics.”
“I think is a better option. We have actually suffered playing regional and state politics.”
The joining of APC by Onyendilefu and Anyatonwu weeks after the defection of the former Speaker of the state 7th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji and among others joined the APC making APC the sought-after party in the state.
