The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Sam Amadi, has criticized the Nigerian government for its handling of the ongoing nationwide protest.
Taking to X on Friday, Amadi stated that the government had a three-week window to address citizens’ concerns through effective communication and engagement but instead chose to mobilize thugs and pay individuals to speak against the protest organizers.
He believes this approach has caused significant damage, implying that the government’s failure to engage with citizens has exacerbated the situation.
Amadi’s comments come as the protest continues, with many Nigerians expressing frustration over the government’s response to their grievances.
“Government had three weeks to abort this protest through good communication and respectful engagement with citizens.
“But it resorted to mobilizing thugs and paying people to speak against so called organizers. Now government failure has caused massive damage,” Amadi tweeted.
