The family of the prominent Afenifere leader, late Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has revealed details for his upcoming burial ceremonies.
In a statement released by the family, it was confirmed that the elder statesman will be laid to rest on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Chief Adebanjo, who passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 96, will be honoured with various events leading up to his funeral.
The statement further outlined that a Day of Tributes and Service of Songs will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.
A wake is also planned for Friday, May 2, 2025, at the late Chief’s residence in Isanya Ogbo, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
The final burial service will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at St. Phillips Anglican Church in the same town.
A thanksgiving service will conclude the memorial events on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at St. Phillips Anglican Church.
The family has requested prayers and support from the public as they prepare for the burial and have invited well-wishers and associates to participate in honoring the late nationalist.
