The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Debo Ologunagba, has enjoined former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose; and the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom; to support the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar, in 2023.

The PDP spokesman stated this on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme on Thursday, while reacting to reports of divisions in the party.

Premium Politics had earlier reported that Ortom faulted the decision of the party to snub his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike, and choose Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as Atiku’s running mate.

Also, Fayose declared support for a Southern Presidency come 2023 which is against the PDP that has fielded a northern candidate from Adamawa State.

But the PDP spokesman said, “Fayose and Ortom are respected members of our Party, we recognize their contributions to the Party and we also respect their rights to air their opinions.”

“Fayose and Ortom are entitled to their opinions, we are democratic and we don’t suppress opinion, we can’t question their opinions.

“The moment we take a decision, we expect every member to key into it especially when those decisions are taken democratically,” he added
