The Federal Capital Territory Minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud, has emphasized that the ruling All Progressives Congress in the nation’s capital is highly focused and determined to secure victory in the upcoming area council elections and the general elections.
Mahmoud made the statement on Thursday during a crucial stakeholder meeting of the APC in the FCT, where she noted that the party members had identified the challenges facing the party and are fully prepared to address them.
She underscored that the selfish interests of a few individuals should not take precedence over the collective interests of the party.
“I can see that APC in FCT is taking shape and becoming more focused on the way forward. We have identified where our problems lie, and we are more united to overcome them. The result of our unity will manifest more in the area council elections and the general election come 2027,” the Minister said.
Mahmoud also highlighted that the establishment of the Youth and Women Secretariat by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was a deliberate and strategic move to ensure the inclusion of youth and women in the FCT’s political landscape.
She added that the large turnout of party faithful at the meeting was a clear reflection of their unwavering commitment to the growth, unity, and success of the APC, as well as to the advancement of the FCT and the nation at large.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the APC in FCT, Hon. Abdulmalik Usman, applauded the party’s stakeholders for their relentless efforts in ensuring the unity of the party.
“I have said it before that the dedication of all members has continued to solidify APC’s position as the ruling party and the preferred choice of the people. Today, our collective resolve is key to sustaining the dominance of APC as the ruling party. We will continue to deliver dividends of democracy to our people and build a stronger, more prosperous nation,” Usman said.
