The convoy of the Osun State House of Assembly speaker, Adewale Egbedun, was involved in an auto crash on their way from Osogbo on Sunday.
The speaker’s spokesperson, Olamide Tiamiyu, confirmed the accident, stating that, Egbedun was not in the vehicle, four occupants of one of the vehicles in the convoy were injured and hospitalized following the accident, which happened around Dagbolu, along Osogbo/Ikirun road, Osun State.
The PUNCH reported that three operatives of the State Security Service and the driver were in the vehicle heading towards Odo Otin Local Government, Egbedun’s constituency, where he had planned to attend church service.
He said, “Three DSS men and a driver were in the vehicle when it happened. One of the tyres had problem, and the driver lost control of the vehicle.
“Two of the DSS men had slight cuts and were treated in a private hospital in Osogbo. The other two people in the vehicle were discharged this morning.
“The speaker was not in the vehicle. It was a minor accident.”
