The outgoing Speaker of the about-to-be-dissolved 9th assembly, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, is currently delivering his final speech as the Speaker of the House.
The lawmaker, representing Surulere Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives is delivering the speech at the ongoing valedictory session of the 9th assembly.
Hon. Gbajabiamila, who commended his colleagues for their efforts in the last four years, which include passage of important legislations like PIA, Electoral Act and others, also expressed regret with their inability to pass several women-related bills, which the House rejected in 2022.
However, he urged the yet-to-be-inaugurated incoming 10th assembly, to work harder in passing more female-related bills in the House.
Present at the event are; the Former speakers, Ghali Na’Abbas and Patricia Etteh, who are there to join their colleagues at the chamber, for the valedictory session of the outgoing assembly.
It would be recalled that Premium Politics earlier reported last Friday, that Gbajabiamila was appointed as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
His appointment was announced during the president’s meeting with the Progressives Governors Forum in Abuja, last Friday.
