Gov poll: Buhari wins ward for APC

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) from the All Progressive Congress has won his ward for his party in the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections held today.

The President and his son, Yusuf had earlier in the day, cast their votes at the polling unit 003, Sarkin Yara ‘A’, Kofar Baru, Daura in Katsina State.

 

The PUNCH reported that the collation officer for the ward, Hamza Yusuf, announced the results after results from the ward had been collated.

 

In the governorship election for the ward, the APC polled 261 votes; the Peoples Democratic Party polled 32 votes and the New Nigeria Peoples Party polled 0 votes.

 

Similarly, the APC polled 240 votes in the State House of Assembly election while PDP polled 50 votes and the NNPP polled 0 votes.

 

However, results from other wards in the state were still being collated as at time of filing this report.

 

The Governor of the state, Aminu Masari, also cast his votes earlier in the morning at his Masari ward in Kafur Local Government Area.
