The Ogun State Governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Saturday’s governorship election, Messer, Dapo Abiodun is leading in six local government, out of the 11 local government results, announced at the collation centre in Abeokuta, so far.
The Resident Electoral Commission, Niyi Ijalaye, and the Returning Officer, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, opened the collation center at exactly 10:32am, on Sunday.
The governor, Abiodun, who is seeking re-election for his second term in officer, as the number one citizen in Ogun State, is contesting alongside Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party, who happened to be his closest rival, in the election.
Adebutu, who is from the same hometown and local government with Abiodun, won the incumbent governor at their local council, Iperu/Ikenne local government, where the sitting Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osibajo is also from.
