How FG can end IPOB agitation – Peter Obi

Fuel subsidy organized crime - Peter Obi

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has revealed how the Federal Government of Nigeria can end the agitations of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra.

Obi stated that with the effective use of dialogue while discarding the use of force, the government would be able to resolve the agitations of IPOB.

IPOB is a separatist group in Nigeria that aims to secede and establish the Republic of Biafra.

The former governor of Anambra State had called on the Federal Government to release the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

“I wish to appeal to the Federal Government to change its hardline posture on this issue and yield to the persistent clamour for the release of Nnamdi Kanu and other Biafra activists so as to douse the tension in the country, especially in the South-East and South-South geo-political zones.

“The Federal Government should engage them in dialogue. Every agitation in the world is resolved through dialogue and not by means of force,” Obi stated on Arise TV Morning Show on Wednesday.

According to him, the agitation was birthed by poor leadership in the country which, according to him, had been the issue with Nigeria over the years.

He also denied his involvement in any agitation movement.

He said, “I have never been in any agitation. I had said that the agitation is because of leadership failure over the years. I will engage them in dialogue if elected into power”.
