Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State revealed on Tuesday that his administration had successfully paid off over N50 billion in loans inherited from previous administrations in the state.

He also emphasized that his administration was focused on saving money for the future of the state.

Speaking to critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Lafia, the governor explained how the removal of fuel subsidy by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, while causing hardship to the people, had provided additional revenue for the state.

He stated that this increase in revenue not only allowed his administration to clear the inherited debt but also enabled them to initiate various development projects and save for the state’s future.

“The President has made a commendable decision to allocate the funds from the removal of fuel subsidy to federal, state, and local governments. Nasarawa State’s share of revenue has significantly increased, allowing us to undertake projects that were previously impossible,” Governor Sule said.

Highlighting the achievements of his administration, Governor Sule underscored the importance of leaving behind legacy projects across the state. He emphasized the need for internal unity among party members and stakeholders for the APC to progress.

Acknowledging past disagreements, particularly during and after the 2023 general elections, Governor Sule urged party members to reconcile and work together for the greater good of the party and the state.

“At the end of this conversation, I urge you to forgive each other so that we can move forward. We cannot let someone without our capacity, knowledge, experience, and commitment undermine the progress we’ve made,” Governor Sule concluded.
