A Federal Government delegation will on Monday, January 22, 2024, visit the scene of Tuesday’s explosion in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

A source who made this known noted that the FG team will be visiting the explosion site, to do an onsite assessment of the incident, to determine the level of damage, and the palliative package to give succour to the victims of the incident.

According to a credible source, the team which will include the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu among other top government officials, will be at the Old Bodija scene of the explosion that rocked the city, last week Tuesday.

Reports revealed that the incident claimed five lives, houses, and vehicles, among other properties worth hundreds of millions of Naira, which were destroyed during the explosion.

However, preliminary investigations have shown that dynamite stored up by illegal miners was the immediate cause of the explosion.

Meanwhile, search and rescue operations have entered day six, while no arrest has been made so far.
