Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Asue Ighodalo, for the September 21 governorship election, harping that Ighodalo is not a ‘push-and-start’ candidate.
Obaseki, on Wednesday, urged voters to support Ighodalo, describing him as a competent and capable leader who can sustain the good governance already established in the state, according to the PUNCH.
At a campaign rally in Agenebode, Obaseki emphasized the need for a skilled and experienced leader to navigate the challenges facing Edo State, particularly in light of the country’s current economic struggles.
He expressed confidence in Ighodalo’s ability to complete ongoing projects and initiate new developments, including the School of Agriculture and the blue economy potential of the riverine zone.
Ighodalo thanked the crowd for their support and promised to create wealth and complete all ongoing projects. The event also saw hundreds of defectors from the All Progressives Congress join the PDP.
The Edo PDP Chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, thanked the people for their support and encouraged them to vote for the PDP candidate on September 21.
“Asue Ighodalo is not a ‘push-and-start’ candidate. The state needs competent hands to pilot its affair, given the level of suffering currently ravaging Nigeria today.
“So, it will be a big disservice to the state to elect somebody who is grossly incompetent and incapable of managing it. Edo is already enjoying good governance and that is why I brought Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie to continue the good work I am doing,” Obaseki said
