Three House of Representatives members from Imo State under the Peoples Democratic Party have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress with over 3,000 supporters.
The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma welcomed the defectors into the party at the Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square, Owerri, the state capital on Monday.
Those who dumped the PDP were Hon. Ikenna Elezieanya, Hon. Bede Ekeh, Hon. Henry Nwawuba, and a host of other individuals ahead of the November 11 governorship elections in the state.
While addressing the Federal Lawmakers, Governor Uzodinma, who is seeking re-election for his second term, told the defectors that APC is one, adding whether old or new, the members are one.
Uzodima said, “There is no new member in APC and there is no old member in APC, we are one”.
The Governor, however, called on all Imo sons and daughters irrespective of party affiliation to partner with him to create prosperity for Ndi Imo.
