The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has named Kabiru Masari as his running mate for the 2023 elections.

The Director of Media of Tinubu’s Campaign train, Bayo Onanuga, made this known in an exclusive interview with Premium Politics.

According to him, Masari will stand in whilst Tinubu continues consultations with stakeholders of the ruling party for a running mate.

Onanuga said, “Tinubu still has till August to change his running mate. He is still consulting with party stakeholders but to meet INEC’s deadline, he has named Kabiru Masari as his tentative running mate.”

Also, a chieftain of the party, Kabiru Faskari, during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, explained that picking Kabiru, who hails from Katsina State, does not violate the country’s laws as against the clamour for a Muslim/Christian APC ticket.

The APC’s decision followed the deadline given by the Independent National Electoral Commission for presidential candidates to submit the names of their running mates.

INEC had given a Friday, June 17th, deadline for the submission of the names.

Premium Politics had reported that Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, picked Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa; whilst Labour Party’s presidential candidate settled for a former presidential aide, Doyin Okupe, as his running mate.
