Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has suspended the Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Sankara, pending an investigation into allegations of infidelity.
Sankara was arrested on Friday evening by the Kano State Hisbah Board in an uncompleted building with a married woman.
The Director General of the Kano State Hisbah Board confirmed the arrest.
However, Sankara has denied the allegations, describing them as false and baseless.
He claims the accusations are an attempt to tarnish his reputation, according to Politics Nigeria.
The suspension is effective immediately, according to a statement by Malam Bala Ibrahim, Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State.
The outcome of the investigation will determine Sankara’s future in the administration.
This development highlights Governor Namadi’s commitment to upholding moral standards within his administration.
The investigation’s findings will be closely watched, and its outcome may have significant implications for Sankara’s political career.
Reacting to the report, Sankara has denied the allegations, describing them as “false, baseless, and malicious” and an attempt to tarnish his image.
