Jigawa govt budgets N172m for Dutse General Hospital solar project

At least 172 million naira has been approved by the Jigawa State Government for the provision of a solar mini-grid at Dutse General Hospital.

This was made known by the state’s information commissioner, Sagir Musa, on Friday in a statement.

He said that the approval for the alternative power supply at the hospital was made during the State Executive Council meeting on Thursday.

“The SEC has approved the award of contract for the installation of a solar mini-grid at the Dutse General Hospital at the sum of N172,754,158 only.

“The council decision is in line with Governor Umar Namadi’s administration’s commitment to improving the standard of General Hospitals in the state for effective healthcare delivery,” Mr Musa said.

The commissioner also listed other approvals to include N324.8 million to construct, rehabilitate, and upgrade 33 small towns’ water supply schemes in 14 constituencies.

Also, the council had approved a contract to establish a fumigation chamber at the Maigatari Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Maigatari LGA.

He maintained that the planned establishment of the chamber was also to improve the quality of hibiscus produced in the state and meet the Nigeria Export Promotion Council requirements for exportation.
