After a rerun for the PDP primary for the Eti-Osa constituency House of Representatives ticket, popular Nigerian singer, Bankole Wellington, aka Banky W, has been declared winner again.

Premium Politics reported that the music executive’s celebration was cut short two weeks ago when a result slip revealed his challenger, Mr Sam Aiboni, as the winner of the first controversial primary, hours after the singer was declared to have won the poll.

Banky W however clinched the ticket in the rerun on Monday by polling 24 votes out of 29 votes cast by delegates, leaving Aiboni with just five votes.

The ‘Lagos Party’ singer reacted to the victory in a post uploaded on his verified Instagram account.

“While we are grateful for our success at the Primary, we are completely heartbroken at the state of our nation.

“We must play our part in fixing the nation and we must get into the system to help fix it, Our work begins now. Thank you Lod, thank you PDP, thank you Eti-Osa and Lagos, God bless us all,” he shared with his 4.7million followers.

Veteran rapper, Lanre Dabiri aka Eldee; media mogul, Mo Abudu; TV presenter, Bolanle Olukanni; actors Sambasa Nzeribe; and Williams Uchemba, amongst other entertainers led the long list of congratulatory messages in his comment section.
