The Peoples Democratic Party in Kaduna State has zoned the party’s Chairmanship seat to Jema’a Local Government Area.
This decision was made by the Kaduna South Senatorial District Executive Committee, led by former National Legal Adviser Mark Jacob, after a meeting on Saturday, according to Daily Post.
The committee’s report, adopted unanimously, also recommended the zoning of other positions to various local government areas in the state.
The Vice Chairmanship position was zoned to Kagarko, while the Women Leader position was zoned to Jaba.
Other positions were also zoned to Zango Kataf, Kaura, Kauru, Kacbia, and Sanga local government areas.
The zoning committee, led by Mark Jacob, requested the leadership to establish an Elder Committee, led by former Deputy Governor Ambassador Nuhu Audu Bajoga, to meet with Chairmanship candidates and appeal to them to accept the zoning arrangement.
This aims to ensure even distribution of party positions for inclusive politics across the zone and state.
The zoning decision is constitutionally aimed at ensuring fair distribution of party positions for inclusive politics across the zone and the state at large.
