Kano gov directs commissioner nominees to declare assets

The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has given order that all the 19 Commissioner nominees must declare their assets, in compliance with the code of conduct rules.

 

The directive was made know in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Comrade Sanusi Bature, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Kano.

 

The Governor has approved the reinstatement of Barr. Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado who was suspended from office by the previous administration in questionable circumstances as Chairman of the Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission to complete his tenure.

 

The reinstatement is with immediate effect and in compliance with a court order.

 

Governor Yusuf said in the statement, “By this announcement, the nominees are expected to declare assets within the best possible time before their onward screening at the state assembly.”

 

He, however, vowed that no commissioner nominee will be sworn in as a cabinet member without filling out the asset declaration form from the Code of Conduct Bureau.

 

“All other political appointees under this administration shall also comply with the directive accordingly.”
