A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Seyi Olorunsola, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider facilitating the entrance of Chief Leke Abejide into the party.

Olorunsola emphasized the importance of Abejide’s presence, stating that the Kogi state chapter of the APC would greatly benefit from his involvement, further solidifying its position.

In an interview with newsmen, Olorunsola described Abejide as “the shining star of Kogi politics,” capable of bringing significant political capital to the APC and enhancing its developmental agenda.

He highlighted Abejide’s past contributions, stating, “Honourable Abejide has over the last two election cycles used his positive influence to expand the political reach of the African Democratic Congress in the Yoruba-speaking area of Kogi State.”

Olorunsola pointed out that the Kabba/Bunu Federal Constituency is currently represented by the ADC, a victory that was achieved at the expense of both the APC and the PDP. He emphasized Abejide’s ability to expand his political base and urged President Tinubu to recognize his invaluable contribution by extending an invitation for him to join the APC.

According to Olorunsola, integrating Abejide’s leadership into the APC would lead to a paradigm shift towards a more progressive and inclusive form of governance in Kogi State. He stressed the need to leverage Abejide’s visionary leadership to effect lasting change and improve the lives of the people.

Olorunsola also highlighted Abejide’s exemplary track record, especially in the area of education and other critical sectors. He contrasted Abejide’s dedication to service with the allegations of misappropriation of state funds against the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello. Olorunsola emphasized Abejide’s integrity and genuine concern for the welfare of his people, citing his consistent support for education, including paying the WAEC/NECO fees of students from his constituency.

He praised Abejide’s unwavering commitment to the common good and described him as a rare breed in Nigerian politics, whose dedication to service transcends partisan interests. Olorunsola concluded by stating that Abejide’s leadership serves as a beacon of hope for Kogi State, offering a path towards inclusive and people-centric governance.
