In view of the task ahead, Kogi State House of Assembly has held an induction course for the 25 newly elected members of the state constituency.

The session took place at the chambers of the Kogi State House of Assembly on Wednesday.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters, Hon Haruna Musa Idoko, while delivering his speech, enjoined the members-elect to ensure peace and unity in the cause of their legislative duties.

According to Daily Post, he explained that though the new members may have come in from different political parties, there is need to be friendly with the legislative staff members who will be assisting them on the job.

Also speaking, the chairman of the Assembly Service Commission, Alhaji Andas Abdulmalik Momohjimoh, stressed the need for lawmakers to be well acquainted with their prospective aides.

Earlier in his lecture titled “Principles and Practise of Emotional Intelligence for Leaders,” retired Deputy Clerk, Administration and General Services, Martins Enimola, stressed the need for lawmakers to manage their emotions while making decisions, adding that lawmakers should identify themselves and the plights of their colleagues for effective and efficient performances.
